Uni XC results

michaelMichael Dyer finished 49th (27:54) in the Southland 8km XC Champs (today, 3rd Nov) at Piney Woods, Nacogdoches, Texas – with his team McNeese State placing 7th. However, McNeese were by injury and illness (with Michael getting a stomach bug) as Stephen Scullion – NBH- (returning from injury) placed 40th (27:24) . North Down"s Jordan Neil was  forced to drop out mid race with a leg injury. The race was won by Samuel Kosei in 24:13.

Closer to home – but at Wimbledon Common  – Robin Brown placed 6th (41:27) over 7 miles in the Cambridge Hare & Hounds versus Thames Hare & Hounds annual mob match – on Saturday 1st Nov – to help CU secure the win.

Not to be out-done by the guys, Jessica Craig and Lauren Scott have started their XC season well at their repective Uni bases in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Birmingham. On October 25th Jessica finished 4th in the combined U20/17 race at Temple Park, South Shields in the NE Harrier League. Further South at Senelleys Pk – with the famous stream to run through – Lauren had to move up from the 3k U20 race (as her Uni hadn"t entered a team in that race) to run in the 180 runner senior womens 6k race in the Birmingham League  – where she finished 113rd. A tough & long race for an 800m specialist but good experience.
