The U14 boys squad continued their red hot streak of form at Ballyclare in the McConnell Shield cross country meeting with Glen Willis 1st, Roger Dawson 3rd, Harry Speers 5th and Sam McKibbin 6th. Conor O”Boyle was 7th U16 and Stephanie Hambing, Lynne Kerr and Jill Dowie were 12th, 15th and 19th in the ladies race. A round dozen senior men ran ran in the 5 mile McConnell Shield taking 5th in the team race led by James Budde 21st, Simon Seaton 23rd, Brian Barron 28th and Nick Arkensparr 33rd. Veterans with good runs included Mark Weir, Tony Wall, Gerry O”Boyle, David Seaton and Fred Murdock. At the Uneven Age Group Championships on Sunday at the Finn Valley Centre, Jordan Stokes was 17th in the U17 race, qualifying for the All Irelands as 3rd in the 2nd placed County Down team.
