It was bright and sunny and the surface was perfect but being Mallusk there was a strong wind and a high chill factor. Glen Willis had the best result of the local runners with 2nd in the Junior Boys race, having to work hard from 3rd and hold off a strong finishing pack. Harry Speers and Roger Dawson were 23rd and 25th, both going through to the Irish Schools as part of the 2nd placed Sullivan team. The Senior Boys race was the usual toughie with the team prize going to Donegal but individual honours to County Down Champion James O”Hare. Mark Patterson was 10 th, Brian Barron 15th, Niall Robinson 16th, Jordan Stokes 17th, Michael Patterson 35th, Josh Lowry 44th and Kendrick Halliwell 73rd. Jemma Speers ran well in the Minor Girls race for 12th with Kayleigh Walsh 37th and Chloe Johnston54th.This year the Irish Schools Championships come North and along with the Irish Univerities will be held at Jordanstown on Saturday 7th March
