Festival  Week in Portaferry in the 2^nd week of the July Fortnight produces a fantastic atmosphere, ideal for the popular Portaferry 10 Mile Road Race. There is always a big North Down contingent and it is the July race in the North Down Grand Prix.. In a good night for the club Stephen Wylie and Dennis Scott both broke the existing club 10 mile record with Stephen storming to victory in 55:55 min and Dennis 2^nd in 56:47 min. In the ladies race, Grand Prix organiser Valerie McDonough led the way in 7th overall and 2^nd in the F40, with Nikki Heywood 10th, 2nd FO category and Sarah Benton 11th and 4th F40.  Back to the men, Darren Hamilton was 3rd M35, Gerry O’Boyle 3rd M40 and Pat O’Driscoll 2nd M65.

In the associated 2 x 5 mile relay, Lynne Kerr  aong with Ivan Prue was 5th Mixed Pair and Gemma McAnirn and Helen Irvine were 4th ladies Pair.
