A good group of club 800m runners turned out at Mary Peters on Thursday evening at the first of the Walsin meetings. Results were:- Niall Robinson 1:57.9 min, front running and winning the open race, James Budde 1:59.4, Francis Marsh 2:05.8, Thomas Simpson 2:17.4. In the age group race Jordan Stokes won in 2:02.9 (pb) with Brian Barron 2:12.4 and Matthew McMullan 2:26.3. For the girls Lauren Scott ran 2:22.4 and Nicola Simpson 2:29.4. Results in the U15"s were Glen Willis 2:15.1 (pb), Roger Dawson 2:24.9, Harry Speers 2:25.4 and Sam McKibben 2:36.0. Glen, Harry, Roger and Sam also featured in 100m, long jump and discus. Ben Reynolds ran 11.42 for 100m and threw the discus 30.90m.
At U13 level Jemma Speers ran 2:44.2 min (pb) at 800m and Joanna Minnis 15.90 sec at 100m. At primary school age Peter Speers and Luke Ritchie ran 600m and did long jump while Emma Reid had the night"s best results of all winning 80m in 12.31 sec, 2nd in long jump with3.14m and 2:12.2 min for 600m.
