The McCain Northern Ireland Young Athletes League opened with Round 1 on Saturday at Antrim Stadium in excellent weather conditions. The draw landed North Down in Match 1 and pitched them against Derry and Regent, the two strongest teams of recent years and some good performances left the club 3rd in that match. North Down had many good performances as detailed below though the large number of gaps would suggest far too many make no contribution. Anyway well done to those who took part.
