Conditions in Tullamore were perfect on Saturday for the Schools Interprovincial where throwers led the way for North Down Ac athletes. Matthew Martin won the boys javelin with 50.20m just outside his pb while Conor McGrattan in third with 46.03m was well ahead of his pb with 46.03m. Sarah Newell was third in the girls event with a sb of 30.29m. At discus Gareth Irvine and Kathy Hetherington were both second, Gareth with a pb of 42.93m and Kathy with 33.65m. Kerrie Craig at high jump equalled her sb with 1.55m in 6th place, countback going against her. Unfortunately for Katie Dickson with Schools International places at stake, she was ill and had to withdraw from the triple jump.
