‘Uneven Age Championships’ in County Cavan

NI & Ulster Uneven Age Group and Novice XC Championships 2014:

On Sunday, many junior athletes from Northern Ireland headed south to Virginia in County Cavan  for the Northern Ireland & Ulster ‘Uneven Age Group Championships’. This was the counterpart to the recent ‘Even Age Group Championships’, held at Jordanstown alongside the Bobby Rae Races. The North Down athletes were in the U13 boys, under 15 girls and U17 boys races, all races of a high standard. Jakob Swann had a good race in the U13 event, placing 8^th in 8:01 min. John McNally ran 8:45 and Finlay Miller 9:37. The U15 girls all placed well with Mollie Brown 11^th in 12:31, Jessica Scott 15^th in 12:50 and Anna Scott 33^rd in 13:50.  Craig McMeechan was 9^th U17 boy in 16:23 with Reee Simpson 41^st in 17:48.
