The Age Group Championships took place over two days on Saturday and Sunday at Antrim. Saturday featured athletes born in 1995 and 1996 and despite the showers there was plenty of action from North Down athetes. Beth Wilson and Mark Widdowson both came away with a full set of medals, Beth winning 1995 discus and with second at shot and third at javelin while Mark won 1995 long jump and was second at 100m and third at 200m. Matthew Stockton took silver at 1995 javelin (and made the 100m final) and Niall McGrattan took bronze at 1996 javelin. Glen Willis won bronze at 1995 800m and was 5th at 1500m and javelin while Sam McKibbin was 5th at 800m and Harry Speers made finals at both 80m and 250m hurdles and was 9th at 1500m. Alex Catherwood jumped a pb in the 1996 high jump at the bronze medal height but was 5th on countback. Karyn Cole, Kathryn Montgomery and Matthew Kyle all competed.
