Many athletes from the club supported this XC event hosted by Annadale Striders AC. Given the severe weather warnings and the heavy conditions underfoot, the first hurdle for many was to make it to the start line. Barney Millar, Euan Tyler and Jude Moran all ran well in the Primary Schools race. In the U13 event, Amelia Tyler won the girls’ race with Ellie Gordon and Tara McDonough coming 3rd and 4th respectively. Adam Skelly and Finlay Millar also ran well. Murphy Millar had a great win in the U15 race with John McNally taking 4th place. Cameron Jenkins also did well. Nia McNally was our sole representative in the U17 event coming 3rd.
Next up were the Ladies Open, Ladies Masters and Men’s Masters. Jodi Smith (F35) and Valerie McDonough (F40) each won their age category and together with the support of nine other team mates contributed to the club’s ongoing success in the ANI Cross Country League, of which NDAC are in pole position. Sixteen men ran in the club vest with one (Darren Hamilton) double jobbing in the Masters and Open races. The next race in the League is in Cookstown on December 12th where the club hopes to compound its recent successes.
