[Not a valid template]AAI All Ireland World Trials & Inter Club XC Championships were held in the North for the first time since 1966 and hosted by Queens University in Barnetts Park. Despite the strong cold wind and heavy going, North Down athletes were keen to test themselves against the best on the island. Though the club entered only individuals in the Junior and Senior Womens races, there were complete teams in the equivalent Mens races. Robin Brown led the North Down Junior Men to 5th place, only 2 points behind 4th and James Budde led the Senior Men to 7th. However for cross country the AAI grades clubs into A, B or C categories and North Down medalled with 3rd place in the B category. Apart from those doing the Irish Schools it was the last cross country race of the season and a good way to finish.
