Amy breaks long-standing record

Three days into the track season and the top ten lists are on fire. There is a confident new generation of girl sprinters in the club led by Amy Foster and at the first open graded meet of the season Amy broke Gayle Connery‘s long-standing 100m club record and moved to 3rd on the 200m list.

Despite the low key nature of the meeting, some people were staying on for the 2nd meeting of the day and others were still in heavy training, there were solid performances throughout. Michael McConkey may be concentrating on javelin these days but his rotatioal shot is going well and his 2nd pb in three days leaves him 2nd to Mike Bull. Kerry Iveston had her 2nd pb of the day and Heather Beattie moved up the triple jump lists. Looks like winter training will show dividends.
