After a series of injury problems in the buildup to the World Junior Championships in Beijing, Amy Foster showed her Championship pedigree when she qualified for the semi-final of the 200m this morning. The last of the Irish team to go, on Day 3 Amy ran a personal best of 24.28 sec (0.0 m/s)and goes in the semi final later today.
In the semi final running blind in lane 8 she finished in 6th place in 24.52 (-1.2 m/s).
Going into the championships Amy was ranked 34th in the field, so to make the semi-final and achieve a legal pb is a fantastic result. Amy was also the only Irish athlete to make it out of the first round.
