Armagh City Centre Road Races

armaghAtmospheric, vibrant and very, very fast plus probably the best post-race buffet around – that"s the Armagh City Centre Road Races, held on Thursday evening round the Mall. In the Mens" International, arguably the best in-depth 5K race in the UK or Ireland and won in 14:16.24 by Matthew Bowser of England, armaghNorth Down runners were Francis Marsh 15:.51.48,  Alex Donald 15:54.67 and James Budde 16:06.82.  However it was in the 3K races that the club collected booty. In the Womens" International, Jessica Craig was 14th in 10:36.26 (club record), Roberta Dornan was 16th in 10:37.10 min (1st F35) and Stephanie Hambling was 20th in 11:14.07 (1st F40). That was easily enough to win the team race, all three girls taking huge chunks out of their times last year when they were 3rd. Niall Robinsron opted for the Mens" 3K where he was a good 2nd in 8:44.02 min (club record).  Glen Willis was 16th in 9:27.50 and was 1st in the Jun B category. Josh Lowry was 22nd in 9:35.86, Darren McKee ran 10:13.61, Terry Eakin was 2 places from winning the M60"s in 10:31.24. Simon Robinson ran 10:38.24 and Gareth Lyness 11:05.08.
