12 North Down athletes headed down to Armagh on Thursday night for an evening of high quality races in wet but otherwise good conditions for fast times. Jordan Stokes had the best result of the night with 3rd in the 3k (8:55pb), followed in by: Glen Willis (9:38), then promimising 3k debutants Stephen Wylie (9:52) and Michael Aumonier (10.14 – despite losing shoe mid race!), then evergreen Terry Eakin 10:25 with John McGarvey (11:35pb) closing in the team of 6 scorers. Stephanie Hambling sliced over 20sec off her 2011 clocking to go well under 11min for the first time in placing 25th in 10:52pb in the womens 3k. Debbie Matchett had a good run too with 11:14. The 5k race didn’t produce a few sub-16min times hoped for the club’s 4 entrants where Francis Marsh clocked 16:02, Alex Donald 16:13, James Budde 16:19 and Chris Bryan 16:29.
