The difference in the weather between Easter Sunday and Monday was like day and night. While it was mostly clear and sunny on Sunday for the Ballygalget race, Monday’s wind and rain reminded us of the recently departed winter season.
Gerard Adair 43:17 – 17th, Claire Scott 46:06 – 32nd overall and 1st FO45, and Paula Simpson 55:08 – 74th overall competed at Ballygalget in the 10k race while Terry Eakin claimed 3rd place in the 5k race. The North Down representation at Whitehead for their annual 5 mile road race was undoubtedly reduced due to the weather, but despite this Simon Sexton made the trip and finished 23rd as he clocked 34:20.
