Saturday 3rd March was the 2nd attempt of North Down AC to take control of the Bangor parkrun this winter. The first attempt in January was postponed due to the weather and in the lead up to Saturday’s weekly parkrun it seemed like a third date would be required with the threat from the Beast from the East. But due to the efforts of 30+ volunteers with the guidance of the parkrun regulars, the run went ahead despite the bitterly cold weather, which fortunately did not lead to icy conditions.
117 athletes completed the ritual this week with 10 different athletic clubs represented and 10 individuals achieving personal best times. Well done to all those that took part where it was a popular belief that it was easier to participate than to marshall, such was the arctic east wind.
