Ben Reynolds, who joined the North Down colony in Louisiana earlier this year, made his first appearance for McNeese on Saturday in their own McNeese Cowboy Relays (Bob Hayes Louisiana Challenge) McNeese Cowboy Relays (Bob Hayes Louisiana Challenge). In his first competition since his shoulder operation last year, Ben was 3rd in the 110m hurdles in 14.34 secs, clearing up the North Down record situation at senior hurdles where Ben had a hand-timed 14.4 and brother Luke Reynolds had 14.72 sec. With Luke having extended his stay Down Under and in a position to compete, both are determined to be first to crack the 37 year old Northern Irish record of 14.19 sec.The McNeese meeting, won by the host University, marks the first outdoor meeting of the season available to North Down athletes. Michael Dyer did a pacemaking job in the mile after a very heavy week of training.
