Ben at OdysseyBen Reynolds qualified on Saturday for next month’s World Indoor Championships in Istanbul. Six days after missing the qualifying standard by .01secs at the Odyssey, Ben booked his place in Turkey by achieving exactly the 60m hurdles mark of 7.74 seconds at the International Flanders Meeting. As a consequence of the Belgian run, which extended his Irish U23 and Northern Ireland Senior indoor records, Ben  can look forward to Turkey from 9th to 11th March. He will compete for Ireland at a major senior championship for the first time. The 21-year-old Ben improved his outdoor 110m hurdles personal best to 13.75 seconds last season to break the Northern Ireland senior record and will have ambitions of challenging the London Olympics standard of 13.52. He has already qualified for this year’s European outdoor championships in Helsinki.

Ben said there was a lot more to come and he had three weeks of solid training to improve. "Onwards and upwards."
