Nick Arkensparr made a fine Marathon debut in Berlin on Sunday clocking a 2:58.50 chip time after getting caught way back in the masses at the start. It took Nick over 12 minutes to get across the line and he "was dodging for 13miles" to overtake, eventually arriving at the finish in a 3:11.13 gun time. Not far behind was Stephen Purdie, running a solid 3:25.50/3:27.54 chip/gun time.
At Saturday’s early morning Victoria Park Parkrun, Michael Dyer came home fastest in a course pb of 16:25, followed by Francis Marsh in 16:33. Josh Lowry ran a decent "farewell" 18:16 – before he heads off to Loughborough Uni – with Terry Eakin clocking the 6th fastest 18:31. Alison Downey was 2nd fastest of the women in 23:58.
