There were at least 30 finishers from North Down AC, probably a club road race record, in Ormeau Park for the Seeley Cup 10K which incorporated the Northern Ireland 10K Championships. Good conditions plus a strong entry, including several from across the border, ensured a fast pace and the club athletes took full advantage. Pickings included a Championship team silver medal for the girls, some good category showings and a shedfol of pbs.
Annadale took the Mens Team event from Armagh and North Belfast with North Down 5th, North Belfast won the Ladies Teams from North Down and Lagan Valley and cross border raiders Andrew Ledwith and Hazel Murphy were individual winners.
Niall Robinson in 10th was first club athlete home in 32:32 min with Francis Marsh 21st and 2nd M45 in 33:25 with Michael Dyer 33:39, Chris Bryan 34:53 and Mark Weir 35:53. The 2nd place ladies team was Julie Balmer 38:37, Debbie Matchett 40:56 and Ange Perrott 42:35. Julie and Ange were 1st and 3rd F35 and Debbie was reported as 3rd F40 although we make her 1st F45. As well as a pb, Ange took most of her ladies training group with her to the same result. As can be seen from the Stats section, seasons bests were everywhere.
