15 North Down athletes took part in the Bobby Rea memorial cross country races that supported the Ulster & NI even age-group champs.
In the women’s & M60+ 3mile race, Roberta Dornan was first home for the club in 5th overall and chasing down 3rd place in the Women’s race – losing out to a podium finish by just 1 second. Not far behind in 6th was David Seaton with Fred Murdoch (16th) & Lynne Kerr (18th next).
[Not a valid template]11 guys from the club toed the line for the final race of the day over 5miles.The club’s scoring team of 3 were Francis Marsh (11th), John Carlisle (18th) and Simon Seaton in 23rd to finish joint 3rd team (unofficially). More gold & blue vest followed with Niall Robinson 27th, Nick Arkensparr 31st, Mark Weir (making good come-back progress) 39th, Thomas Simpson 48th, Tony Wall (on ‘home turf’) 58th, Gerry O’Boyle 65th, John McGarvey 74th & Norman Lellyett 83rd.
