Bobby Rea XC

The annual Bobby Rea memorial XC races followed the age-group races at Rostrevor and provided testing but virtually mud-free courses. In the women’s 5k Jessica Craig was first home for North Down in 3^rd with Rachel Gibson in 4^th (34sec adrift) consolidating her improved xc form in 2012. Women’s captain Ange Perrott also repeated her recent good form placing 11^th (giving a 3-to-score team win ahead of City of Derry: 18 versus 27).

Leading men in a close M60 race for podium positions over 5k were: Michael Roberts in 3^rd and David Seaton 4^th. In the men’s 4 lap 8k race, Francis Marsh came home in 15^th, with Dennis Scott moving up well to 18^th and the rest of the 4-to-score team comprising (a back injury affected) James Budde in 36th and Mark Weir  in 38^th (team placing 5^th of 8 teams).
