Brendan McConville achieved his goal for the 2004 season while competing as a guest in the Deutsche Mehrkampf-Meisterschaften (German Combined-Events Championships)in Vatterstetten.
His score of 7310 (new pb) is the first occasion he has passed the standard for the 2006 Commonwealth Games Team. His score included a brilliant first day of 3874, pb’s at shot, high jump, discus and 400m (where he regained the club record).
With the potential to achieve even more without an elbow injury hindering both his pole vault and javelin, Brendan will be more than capable of achieving the selection standard next year.
