The first round of the BAL took place on Saturday posing a clash for students with the BUSA Championships on over the weekend. Tom Reynolds did both and competed in Division 1 at Cardiff for Windsor, Slough, Eton and Hounslow before heading off to Bedford for the BUSA”s (see separate news item). At Cardiff Tom won the “B” shot with 12.18m, was 2nd in “B” pole vault with 4.00m and 5th in “B” triple jump with 12.24m. Michael Dyer went for the BAL and competed in Division 2 for Herne Hill Harriers at Chelmsford where he was 3rd in “A” 800m in 1:54.49 min and 6th in “A” 1500m in 4:08.22 min. However at Barnet Copthall Stadium at the top end of the top league – the Premier Division – Brendan McConville won the “B” pole vault for Woodford Green with 4.40m and also ran in the 4 x 400m relay.
