It was a welcome return for the Newcastle promotion in Castlewellan Forest Park despite the heavy driving rain. Niall Robinson was 3rd U15 boy and Leigh McWha 7th U15 girl. Jessica Craig and Lauren Scott were 2nd and 3rd in the U17 girls and Thomas Simpson 6th U17 boy. In the womens race Debbie Matchett was 1st O/35 while Kerry Iveston and Nicola Simpson were 2nd and 3rd U20. For the vets David Seaton won the O/60 prize with 24th overall in the Senior & Vets race. Macus McAuley, Norman Lellyett and Brian Smith were close behind. Hugh Young won the O/65′s and Pat O’Driscoll also finished in the tough conditions.
David Simpson of Willowfield and Jill Shannon of Lagan Valley were the winners of the senior races. with Richard Rodgers top veteran.
