Celtic International

David Keys and Peter Glass both had wins in the Celtic International at Grangemouth, David throwing the 1.25Kg discus a pb of 42.02m and Peter winning the 100m hurdles in an excellent legal best of 13.72 sec. The U15 boys were by far the most successful team finishing 2 points behind Wales for second. Overall however Ulster was fourth.

Kim Shaw was fourth at U15 100m and 200m in 13.51 and 26.69 sec. In the same events at U17 level Amy Foster was third in 12.86 and 25.36 secs. Aaron Stirling was fourth at U17 hammer with 49.48m as was Caroline Oakes in U17 javelin with 31.34m. Both were probably unlucky in that margins were very tight. All our athletes performed at the level comparable with their current ability,with the sprints into a strong wind.
