Following his recent 4th place at the Schools’ International, Michael Gaffney returned to the Grangemouth stadium in Scotland last weekend (Sat 1st August) to represent the Irish U18 team that took on teams from Scotland & Wales at the 2015 Celtic Games. Once again the competition took place in typically blustery conditions, however, these didn’t seem to effect Michael who continued his recent steady improvement by throwing yet another personal best of 58.76m to take the silver medal. This elevates Michael to 7th in the UK rankings for U17 javelin
