Club AGM

The club AGM was held at the Sportsplex on Wednesday evening and was well attended despite the absence of a Chairman and Vice Chairman. Geoffrey Weir took the Chair for the duration of the meeting and read out a welcome sent in by the Chairman. The Secretary and Treasurer both reported on another successful year in 2 011. The main posts to change hands were Paddy McGrattan taking over as Vice Chairman and Kathy Hetherington assuming the position of Ladies Track & Field Captain. Several other positions need to be clarified, hopefully at the next Committee Meeting. Probably the highlight of the year was at the Stormont Cross Country Championship meeting when the club virtually swept the board, winning the mens NI Junior Championship plus the individual winner, the womens Intermediate Championship plus the individual winner, the womens Masters Championship and the mens over 65 Chanmpionship. Both senior track teams reached the Irish Finals, the men finishing 3rd and retaining the Northern Ireland Team Trophy. Ben Reynolds broke the Northern Ireland hurdles record at Amtrim in the Senior Championships.
