While the majority of club runners attended Larne for the annual half marathon Ben Caughers competed in the Savin Rock half in Connecticut, US. His excellent 1:21:37 was rewarded with a 3rd place overall finish and 1st in his age category.
Meanwhile Mark Weir went back to the mountains to race, this time Kilbroney which was a 10 mile hike across unforgiving terrain. The route included climbs to Slieve Martin, Crenville and Slieve Meen which Mark managed to circumnavigate in 1:34:21, placing him 25th.
