The inaugural road race in Downpatrick on Sunday was staged on a flat and fast course. Rachel Gibson took advantage to come within one second of her four year old 5k pb, recording 17:25 and runners up spot behind Laura Graham.
On Saturday Maynooth University hosted the road relays where the men’s teams ran legs of 1M, 2M, 3M, 2M, 1M. Craig McMeechan and Reece Simpson wore the vest of Queens University for the first time when they took on the first 2 mile leg on the A team, Craig, and the last 1 mile leg on the B team, Reece. Craig clocked 9:53 for his trip helping QUB to a 2nd place finish, their best placing since 2009. Reece ran 5:18 for his leg and brought the B team home in 18th
