Delamont Park was in superb condition after the recent dry spell and attracted an even bigger entry than usual. After Clare and Leigh had qualified for the Ulsters in the Junior Girls, Nicola had a stormer in the Senior Girls. She opened up an early lead and seemed well ahead at the final bend but was pipped in the run-in by Emma Ferguson, last year”s winner, who appeared to come from nowhere. In the Intermediate race Jessica was a clear 2nd to Emma McShane while Lauren lost out for 3rd in a tough struggle with Caroline Brown.
Robin had a brilliant race in a strong Intermediate field. With Andrew Gourley and Stuart Brown 1st and 2nd, Robin and and James O”Hare slugged it out for 3rd with Robin hanging on and eventually getting it. John was a good 4th in another strong field in the Seniors won by Stephen Scullion from Shane Kerr and Daniel Quinn all Ulster Champions.
