The popular 5k trail race was held on Wednesday evening around a damp Crawfordsburn country park. The fallers from previous years were non existent as virtually the whole course has been modified with a safer, gravel surface.
The weather didn’t deter from the 40 plus North Down runners who took to the tough course as part of the 210 strong field. Our first runner home was Jack Bradshaw in a strong 18:39 and first lady was Sarah Grant in 20:51 who was 2nd female overall.
Our prize winners on the night were Sarah, Abigail Sloan who is going from strength to strength and deservedly claimed 2nd junior prize with a time of 22:07, Gavin McGaw winning the O40 and Steve Wise winning the M55 category with a healthy 21:28 around the hills.
