Five North Down athletes headed down for the Wednesday night Dublin open Meet: all racing 1500m. Jordan Stokes placed 2nd in the mens A race, running virtually solo the last 800 and clocking 4:04.66. Rachel Gibson was 3rd in the womens race in a useful 4:51.16, while Ciaran Farren knocked a whopping 11secs off his pb with 4:43.88 placing 3rd in the D race. In the ‘B’ race Francis Marsh placed 7th in 4:16.2 (best since 2009) and Josh Lowry came 11th in 4:21.57 in a 17 strong tightly bunched field over the first 800m (in 2:19). The slight dampener on the trip was a broken fan belt and tow back from Newry to Bangor at midnight!
