The final race of the exciting East Coast AC junior XC series took place at the Sandy Bay Playing Fields in Larne on Sunday 3rd March. As well as excellent performances in these age group races, several of North Down AC’s youngest athletes were rewarded with prizes for their overall scores in the race series.
In the mini girls’ 800m race over 800m Reeya McQuillan was 5th in 5:18 while in the boys’ race Lochlainn Mair came 9th in 5:38.

Harrison Mair was 4th in the minor boys’ 1500m race in 6:27, just 3 seconds from the podium and 23 seconds ahead of his nearest rival.
Sophie Rankin came 2nd in the 2000m junior girls’ race in 7:53 , Caitlyn Dickenson was 4th in 8:23 and Isla McQuillan 13th in 10:47. Both NDAC boys made it to the podium in the junior boy’s race with Sebastian Mair winning in 7:06 and Isaac Hall 3rd in 8:18.

In the overall series rankings based on the athlete’s best 2 races, Harrison Mair was 3rd in the minor boys.
Sophie Rankin was 2nd in the junior girls.
Carter Rolston who didn’t race on Sunday due to injury was 1st in the junior boys and Sebastian Mair was 2nd.
