At the Edwards & co meet 3, Women’s T&F Captain Kath Hetherington won the discus with a throw of 37.94m. The rest of the North Down contingent came from the middle to long distance group with five running in the mixed 3000m. Jordan Stokes won comfortably in 9:10.51, with Francis Marsh 3rd in 9:18.79 and Dennis Scott in 4th – chopping 16sec off his pb with 9:36.80. Making a similar improvement on his pb was Ciaran Farren (2nd U17) clocking 10:40.65 while Roberta Dornan was the leading female in easing her way round in 11:06.68 in advance of Sunday’s Newry Half Marathon.
