The beautiful trails and farmland surrounding the 17th Century Glenarm Castle provided the setting for the latest Born2Run races on Saturday 8th April. The events on the day included a 5k and 10k race, however North Down AC interest was concentrated on the 6 yellow and blue vests in the tough, trail half marathon. First NDAC finisher was Jonny Clarke in 1:39:55 closely followed by Sarah Gibson completing the first of her trio of Easter races in 1:40:39. Jonathan McGrath, no stranger to trail running, was next to finish in 1:47:32. Paula Simpson ran steadily, saving herself for upcoming races with a perfectly paced sub-2hr finish in 1:59:43. Emma Hegarty’s excellent form continued as she completed her first half marathon in 2:12:22 and she already has her eyes on a PB at her next half! North Down AC’s half marathon supremo, Pat O’Driscoll rounded off club involvement in 2:32:03.
