Great Turnout in Seeley Cup Championship 10K.

There was what must be a record club turnout on Saturday when 17 men and 14 ladies finished the 10k race which doubled up as the Northern Ireland Championship and was also the 2^nd race in the North Down Grand Prix. First man home was Francis Marsh in 25^th in 33:15 min followed by James Budde in a 10K pb of 33:30 and Dennis Scott in 34:04. The scoring six was completed by Nick Irvine in 38:24 and youngsters Corey Brown in 38:48 and Jamie McMeechan in 38:53. Our top 3 ladies were Julie Balmer in  38:40, Melissa Eccles in 41:07 and Catherine Roberts in 42:14 and we make them 3^rd team after North Belfast and Lagan Valley. The mens team of 6 seems to be a group just outside the first 3, the exact position dependinding whether total positions or men only ones are used.

In the North Down Grand Prix, Nick Irvine and Catherine Roberts are in pole position after the first two races, both posting great times in the Seeley. Ben Caughers proudly wore his club vest for the first time and collected an extra 10 points bonus. There is another opportunity for points next Saturday at the Malcolm Cup XC in Ballyclare
