Having successfully negotiated the ANI cross country league 3 of our ladies decided to keep with the undulations and take on the Hill and Dale hosted by Newcastle AC. Thursday evening was the first race in this year’s series and was around the Castlewellan countryside.
Clair Quigley was first of the trio to make it back to the finish in 45:30 which placed her 89thand Julie Wilson managed the circuit in 48:15, 115th. This is a relatively new experience for the two athletes and we are likely to see them reappear at future races, the next is Tollymore next Thursday.
Cara Jeffrey is no stranger to this type of running and has taken on a renewed determination recently. Cara completed the course in 134th place clocking 50:35. Well done to our ladies.
