On Saturday, Terry Eakin rounded up a small group of North Down and Orangefield athletes for a courtesy visit to the Malahide parkrun with a dawn start from Bangor. In a field of 513 finishers, Terry was 20th and 1st M60 in 19:05 min. Andrew Muir was 45th in 20:24 and Pat O’Driscoll was 244th and 2nd M65 in 27:48. At Victoria Park, early enough for most of us, Craig McMeechan was 1st North Down in 11th overall and 19:32.. Brother Jamie McMeechan was 17th in 19:45 and there was a pb for father David McMeechan in 20:03, tantalisingly close to sub 20. Club Captains John McGarvey and Sarah Benton both had good runs in 21:30 and 22:33 and seem to be on an upward curve.
