The Springwell Cross Country Meeting took place for the first time on Saturday in rather heavy conditions over the University of Ulster Playing Fields in Coleraine. North Down AC had 4 runners in the 3 mile Ladies Race with Kerry Speers 14th in 20:19 min, Catherine Roberts 25th in 21:38, Sarah Benton 45th in 23:17 and Marie Devine 58th in 24:47. In the 5 miles Mens Race Dennis Scott was 17th in 29:12, James Budde 24th in 29:55, Mark Weir 29th in 30:31, Chris Speers 45th in 32:30 and John McGarvey 102nd in 38:31.
