Gale force winds and muddy underfoot conditions greeted runners and spectators alike at Kilbeggan race course for the AAI inter-counties XC champs. Eight North Down athletes competed in these highly competitive races with Glen Willis first up in the U16 boys to place a solid 42nd (of 117). Lauren Scott finished a fine 14th in the Junior Womens race where Jessica Craig hung on for 22nd in the tough conditions. Niall Robinson continued his good form this season with 14th in the Junior mens, where Jordan Stokes (39th) and Thomas Simpson (48th) put in solid performances (60 finished). The Junior men were unlucky to be part of a County Down team just 1 short of a 6th scorer for a potential grade B medal. Last came the mens and U23 race where Robin Brown confirmed his good form this season with 35th (and noticeably, 7th U23). Francis Marsh came in 58th (131 finished).
