Michael McConkey was 6th and 1st GB when he threw his javelin 61.13m at Manchester Sports City when he represented GB and NI U23 in an international for the first time. Michael’s recent throws have been in the 60-63m range so it was a good debut for him. The javelin was won by Jan Syrovatko CZE) with 71.58m from Jonathan Cereze (FRA) with 5.16m. France on 405.5 points won the team event from GB and NI on 398 points
Other Northern Irish atletes in the team were Zoe Brown, 3rd in the pole vault with 3.90m and Laura Kerr, 4th in javelin with 46.20m.
