Mark Patterson, Lauren Scott and Katie Hewitt all had wins at Antrim in the first of two weekends of the Irish Age Group Championships. Mark won the U18 800m in 1:56.02, Lauren the U19 800m in 2:19.54 and Katie the U19 400m hurdles in 66.42 sec. It was the first time that these Championships have been held North of the border but unfortunately they were held in weather for which you could only apologise.
Only two club athletes featured on Saturday, Conor McGrattan, 3rd at U16 javelin with 40.60m and Matthew McMullan, 5th at U17 1500m steeplechase in 5:18.98 min. On Sunday, apart from Mark, Lauren and Katie, Kathy Hetherington was 2nd at U17 discus with 27.61m and Niall McGrattan equalled his brother with a javelin bronze, 29.77m at U13 level.
Glen Willis was 6th at U16 javelin with 31.54m, Kerrie Craig 7th at U16 high jump with 1.45m, Jordan Stokes 7th at U17 800m in 2:06.12 min and Jessica Ross 15th at U15 800m in 2:46.24 min.
