Day 2 of the Woodie’s DIY Senior Track and Field championships produced another pb and a title for a North Down AC athlete at Santry in spite of the damp conditions. Matthew Martin won the javelin by a big margin when he threw a pb of 61.37m. Compared with his pb at triple jump on Day 1, Alan Kennedy had a relatively modest long jump of 6.79m on Sunday but it was enough for him to collect the bronze medal. Mark Patterson had qualified for the 800m on Saturday and on Sunday finished 6th in the final in 1:54.32 min.
