[Not a valid template]The Woodie’s DIY Inter Club Cross Country Championships took part in Santry on Sunday over the same course and race conditions that will be used for the SPAR European Cross Country Championships next December in Santry. In four seasons in a day sort of weather, ground conditions were excellent and so was the viewing. In the 8000m Junior Men”s race Mark Patterson was 23rd in 29:24 min. Niall Robinson 35th in 30:48, Jordan Stokes 47th in 31:50 and Chris Denny 53rd in 34:48 with the team 8th. in the 12000m Senior Men”s race Francis Marsh was 54th in 44:36 min, James Budde 59th in 45:32, Robin Brown 71st in 47:03 and Mark Weir 73rd in 47:36. Best Northern finisher was Simon Taylor of Abbey in 39th and 42:51.For some reason or another North Down were left off the team grading list but assuming the same grading as last year when they were 3rd B team they were 5th this year in the B category.
Full marks to Robin who flew over for the race despite a cold and to Chris who stepped up when Brian Barron became unavailable.
