More had qualified but only three club athletes made the journey to DCU for the Irish Schools Cross Country Championship, Nicola Simpson (Lagan College) in the Senior Girls and Robin Brown (Sullivan) and Niall Robinson (Campbell) in the Senior Boys. All had solid runs and coped with the soft going and sqally weather in an already tough competition. As always Nicola went with the leaders but later had to give way and settled for 33rd. Robin ran well for 30th. Niall was 52nd in the same race.
