The Irish Schools and Irish Universities Cross Country Championships both took place at the Dartfield Equestrian Centre in Loughrea, Galway where torrential overnight rain and the resulting mudbath together with a gale force wind made it very difficult. Glenlola and Bangor Grammar School Senior teams had both qualified but the BGS team was incomplete on the day. The Patterson twins both ran with Mark 21st and Michael 40th. The Glenlola team posted a good result with Lauren Scott 15th, Jessica Craig 31st and Clare Scott 55-60th. Francis Marsh ran in the University Championships and was 28th as part of a strong looking University of Ulster team which however suffered on the day from a couple of dropouts.
