Julie so close to club record again

[Not a valid template][Not a valid template]For the second time this year, Julie Balmer came very close to breaking the North Down AC womens record for the marathon when she ran 2:58:24 hrs in a windy, rainy day in Dublin on Monday. This was 2 seconds slower than when she ran London in the Spring in better weather. The club record of 2:58:07 still belongs to Roma McConville from her victory in the Belfast Marathon in 1983. Julie was 239th overall and 14th of the Senior Women, going through 10K in 34:27, halfway in 1:29:47 and 30K in 2:16:46. Douglas Grant took 6 minutes off his London debut time, finishing 531st in 3:10:33. Several other club runners ran Dublin and results can be located via http://dublinmarathon.ie/results.php but at the time of posting that requires a race number.
