On a sunny summer evening in Lisburn on Wednesday there were 3000 finishers in the two races, the half marathon and the 10K. The half marathon was a triumph for Julie Balmer who won the womens race outright in an excellent 84:21 min. With it being the first race of the second stanza of the Half Marathon Challenge, Francis Marsh maintained his challenge for a category win by finishing 11th at Lisburn while Douglas Grant was 67th. In the 10K Roberta Dornan was also on the podium with 3rd in the womens’ race in 39:26 min while Debbie Matchett, Terry Eakin and Fred Murdock were all 1st in their age category. Ange Perrott had a pb with a sub 43 run.
